Jamal Brown '08
Boston, MA
Jamal is a legal assistant at Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) in Boston. A double major in Government and Women's & Gender Studies, Jamal participated in a number of activities and programs at Dartmouth: the Division 1 Men's Track & Field team, Casque & Gauntlet Senior Society, Dartmouth Outing Club's First-Year Trips' H-CROO, Gay Straight Alliance (now known as "Gender Sexuality XYZ"), and the Inter-Community Council. As president of the Gay-Straight Alliance, he challenged the maintenance of the College's ROTC program despite the Department of Defense's discriminatory "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy; managed the Lambda 10 Project; and pioneered the College's first-ever week-long Pride celebration.
He was the recipient of the Nathaniel D. Bugbee Track & Field Prize, the Webber Award, the Dean of the College Award for Service, and the Dean's Prize. Jamal is currently contributing to Prof. Andrew Garrod's anthology of African American voices from Dartmouth, as well as working with a team of out LGBT athletes across the nation, creating Our Group, a non profit organization that provides outreach to LGBT student athletes. As co-Head Agent for the Class of 2008, Jamal is expressing his continuing love for Dartmouth by fundraising for the Dartmouth College Fund through the end of his term in 2013. Jamal wrote a feature article for Outsports.com detailing his experience as an openly gay athlete, and was honored in the 2008 edition of Out Magazine's "Out 100," honoring the men and women who shaped LGBT culture for the year.

Dr. Sarah Burgamy '00
Denver, CO
Sarah graduated from Dartmouth in 2000 with a major in Psychology and a double minor in Women's Studies and Drama. While an undergraduate, she was active with the DRA, Tri-Delta sorority, Casque and Gauntlet and Palaeopitus. Sarah was a member of the Women's Swimming and Diving Team and the Dartmouth Women's Rugby Football Club. Following graduation, she returned home to her native Denver, Colorado. Currently, Sarah works as a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice while teaching as an adjunct assistant faculty member at the University of Denver in the Graduate School of Professional Psychology. In her “free time,” you can find Sarah enjoying the Rocky Mountains, cycling, swimming, hiking, and generally spending time in the outdoors.

Nicholas Chamousis '73
New York City, NY
Nick is a Manhattan-based attorney who specializes in corporate, computer and real estate law. At Dartmouth, he majored in biology and was a teaching assistant in mathematics and organic chemistry. After graduating from Columbia Law School, he was an associate in the corporate department of a large Manhattan law firm and served as Vice President and Corporate Counsel at J. Walter Thompson Company, the international advertising and public relations firm, before beginning his own practice. Nick is a charter member of Out Professionals, the nation's largest LGBT professional organization, where he has given several seminars on business law. He is also a member of the New York City Bar Association, having served on the Association's Committees on Science and Law and Information Technology. Nick served on the DGALA Board as secretary in 1994-95.

David Eichman '82
Los Angeles, CA
David is a West Hollywood-based attorney who specializes in real estate and business law. He graduated from Northwestern University School of Law in 1988. David is a past President of the West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and also serves on its Board of Directors. He is also a member of the West Hollywood Transportation Commission. David is a past Co-President of LHR: The Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Los Angeles. He is a member of the West Hollywood Democratic Club and the Stonewall Democratic Club. David has been on the Board of Directors of DGALA since 1994 and served as President from 1999-2005 and as DGALA representative on the Dartmouth Alumni Council from 2005 to 2008 where he was chair of both the Student Affairs Committee and the Committee on Alumni Organizations. He lives with his husband, Richard Mehlman, and their two dogs, Lucca and Bruno, in the Laurel Canyon area of Los Angeles.

Mikee Guzman '06
Northampton, MA
Mikee is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst studying Hispanic Sociolinguistics. At Dartmouth, he majored in Spanish and French, was a member of Palaeopitus Senior Soceity, and he served as the Dartmouth Gay Straight Alliance president for 3 years (now known as "Gender Sexuality XYZ") and was co-founder of the Lambda 10 Project, which aims to eliminate homophobia in Greek houses. He was the recipient of the Henry Award, the Webber award, the Dean of the College Award and the Dean's Plate in 2006 for his contributions to LGBT life at Dartmouth, and now is working at UMass on a newly created Queer Caucus which is encouraging a greater dialogue among UMass students and faculty members about the issues surrounding our community. Michael is the treasurer of the '06 Class and on the Corporations Executive Board of The Tabard. He currently teaches Intermediate Spanish classes at UMass, and he presented a paper titled "The Need for Gay Youth Identity" in Mexico City in April 2007 at "Behind The Rainbow: Queer Studies Easter Symposium" sponsored by the the Enkidu International Society for Cultural History and Cultural Studies.

David Hankins '05
Las Vegas, NV
David graduated from Dartmouth in 2005 with a major in History and a minor in Arabic. While at Dartmouth, David was active in Young Democrats, Student Assembly, and College Bowl, taught Arabic drill, and spent terms abroad in Jordan and Tunisia. After graduation, David worked for the College as Assistant Director of Admissions, serving on the international admissions committee and chairing the Latino Recruitment Planning Committee. In 2007, David joined Teach for America, and he currently teaches sixth grade at the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy in Las Vegas, NV. He is pursuing a Masters in Elementary Education at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. David is also working with other alums in the Las Vegas area to get the Dartmouth Club of Las Vegas up and running.

Garrett Hornsby '87
Guttenberg, NJ (New York City)
Garrett is a Vice President at Citigroup in the Municipal Securities Division. At Dartmouth, he majored in Psychology, modified with Spanish. After graduating from Dartmouth in 1987 he moved to San Francisco and worked in the technology industry. He received an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley - Haas School of Business in 1992. Garrett was instrumental in forming the Queer at Haas association during his tenure in B-school. He is a past Vice President of the Black Alumni of Dartmouth Association (BADA).

Cherie Holmes '79
Keene, NH
Cherie is an orthopedic surgeon and chair of both the department of Orthopedics and department of Surgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock – Keene, in Keene, New Hampshire. At Dartmouth, she majored in English and then graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1983. After completing her residency in the Harvard Combined Orthopedic Residency Program, she spent 4 years of active duty with the U.S. Navy, including 7 months in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Shield/ Desert Storm.
She went on to additional training, completing a fellowship in Orthopedic Traumatology and another in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. After three years of private practice in the Washington DC area, she joined the Hitchcock Clinic, where she has been since 1997. She did take an 18 month sabbatical in 2000 and provided her expertise to a U. S. collaborative health care project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Cherie is a previous At-Large Representative of the Dartmouth Alumni Council and chair of the Continuing Education and Travel Committee. She is a member of the Dartmouth Club of Southwest New Hampshire and has been a speaker and mentor for the Afro-Am and English Department at Dartmouth.

Susanne Kandel '00, President

Susi graduated from NYU School of Law in 2004 and is a practicing attorney in the real estate department of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP in New York City. She graduated from Dartmouth with a double major in Religion and Middle Eastern Languages and Literature and a Certificate in Women's Studies. At Dartmouth, Susi spent much of her time working with the Dartmouth Rainbow Alliance (now GSX) and Out 'N' Equal New Hampshire. She also received a Dickey Fellowship to work at the Jerusalem Open House, Jerusalem's LGBT center. Susi serves as one of the DGALA Alumni Council representatives, sitting on the Young Alumni Committee and the Student Affairs Committe. She lives in Jersey City with her partner, Michelle, and their two dogs and two cats.

S. Caroline Kerr '05, Vice President
Hanover, NH
Caroline graduated from Dartmouth with a major in Sociology modified with Women's and Gender Studies, and a minor in Education and Human Development. As an undergraduate, Caroline had a number of different involvements: Palaeopitus Senior Society, Women's Crew Team, 1972 Society Executive Board, Office of Pluralism and Leadership Intern, Undergraduate Advisor, Admissions Senior Interviewer, Dartmouth Outing Club First-Year Trips Leader and Trip Leader Trainer, and Dartmouth Rainbow Alliance Co-chair. Following graduation, Caroline worked for the College as an Assistant Director of Admissions before working as the Associate Director of College Counseling at an independent secondary school in Michigan. Caroline is currently a Senior Assistant Director of Admissions at Dartmouth where, in addition to completing recruitment travel and reading applications to the College, she works with first generation college students, students of color, and LGBTQA students. She also serves on the board of the Greenhills School Alumni Association and the Joyce Ivy Foundation Advisory Board. She lives in Hanover with her partner, Darcy Arendt (Dartmouth Medical School Class of 2010) and their dog, Gryphon.

Roger Klorese '77
Seattle, WA
Roger studied English and Film Studies at Dartmouth. He is currently Senior Director of Product Marketing at Citrix Systems, Inc. He previously served in a variety of marketing, product management and support roles at major and startup companies in the high technology industry, including VERITAS (now Symantec), VMware, Hewlett-Packard, and Sendmail. He and his partner, David Haney, established a fund for the support of LGBT student life at the College. In addition to serving on the board of DGALA, he is a founding director and Director of Hosting Services for Online Policy Group, Inc., which oversees the QueerNet Project, an online web/mail/list service for LGBT, HIV/AIDS, and sex-positive communities he created in 1991. He is also publication chair (and past president) of Prism Comics, a non-profit organization that supports LGBT creators, works, and readers in the comics medium. He and David live in Seattle with their two feisty terriers and their two over-it-all cats.

Kamil Walji '03
Dubai, U.A.E.
Kamil is currently based in Dubai where he works on private equity and strategic consulting projects. He recently completed an M.A. in Strategic Public Relations from USC's Annenberg School for Communication in addition to a summer with American Express' Public Affairs NYC team. He has previously worked as Company Manager for Miami City Ballet and as Associate Producer for Music Fest Miami. As an undergraduate at Dartmouth, Kamil studied abroad in Paris as part of his major in French. Outside of the classroom, he directed and produced with The Harlequins, was a member of The Tabard co-ed fraternity and worked at the Collis Center.

Peter Williams '76, Secretary & Treasurer
Stockbridge, MA
Peter recently received a Masters degree from Columbia University's Teachers College, and he plans soon to begin a second career as a high school social studies teacher in western Massachusetts. At Dartmouth Peter was a Government major, and after earning a law degree from Washington and Lee University, he was a litigation attorney in New York City. Peter now serves as Dartmouth's District Enrollment Director for Berkshire County Massachusetts. He has been a director of DGALA since 1994, and his law firm arranged for the non-profit incorporation and tax-exempt application for DGALA in 1996. Peter has edited Green Light, DGALA's newsletter, since 1999.
